Since the beginning, R3, PROTON's motorsports division has pioneered the research, development and production of race cars.

The term R3 stands for Race, Rally, Research. Our high performance parts and limited-edition PROTON cars are inspired by the Motorsports team's track record, while our engineers continuously develop products based on our own specifications and rigorous testing.

PROTON's involvement in motorsport is largely through participation in the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) spanning Asia Pacific in countries such as Malaysia, Japan, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Australia and China.
