As a step to fulfill its social responsibility within the society it operates, PROTON has moved to adopt two schools in Penang under the Project "PINTAR". The schools chosen are Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Bagan Tuan Kechil, Butterworth and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Paya Keladi, Kepala Batas, which consists of 291 students and 807 students respectively.
This program hails as one of PROTON's commitment, together with other Government Linked Companies (GLC) to help overcome one of the critical issues today, which is: "To Increase The Level Of Achievement Among Children."
The objective for this program is to increase the learning motivation of students through:
- Lessening the burden of poverty by providing support to children in schools.
- Increasing awareness among parents on the importance of education for their children.
- Encouraging parent to participate more in school activities.
- Celebrating success stories within the society.
PROTON has also planned to organise special events, which will require the participation of parents, teachers and the local society. Through this, not only does students who excelled in their studies will be receiving incentives, but parents and teachers alike will also be given awards accordingly.
