Nurturing young talents for a world-class work force.
- The objective of the Malaysian Skills Competition is to nurture young talents below 22 years old in various industry skills. It is aimed at developing young talents to become highly skilled and a knowledgeable work force of world class standard for the country.
- PROTON has sponsored and organized the Malaysian Skills Competition since year 2003.
- Average of the competitors participate in the Malaysian Skills Competition per year are 45 competitors.
- Top 2 winners of Malaysian Skills Competition will go for the ASEAN Skills Competition.
- PROTON sponsors for the competitor who will go for the World Skills Competition, which is held on alternate years.
- Malaysia won the Gold and Silver Medal in Automobile Technology at the 7th ASEAN Skills Competition 2008 which was held in Kuala Lumpur.

Promotion of cars and sales of merchandise at competition venues, and showcase for R&D products and PROTON models.

PROTON to promote and showcase the PROTON cars and services in conjunction with the event.
PROTON INVENTION AND INNOVATION COMPETITION
- The objectives of the competition are to encourage staff to understand and appreciate better not only the car production, but also to contribute creative ideas on how future generation cars should look and feel.
- This competition will generate interest among the staff and should make them feel their contribution to the company is appreciated.
- PROTON will have database of designs for future cars based on its staff's creativity aside from R&D designs.
- Based on teamwork, each team consist of 8 members that comprises team manager, executive and non-executive staff.
- Each team will be allocated a sum of RM 2,000 for purchasing consumable items purposes.
- Teams will be provided with one scrap car. They are required to create a new concept car based on creativity.
- The competition has attracted 20 group participations. The current progress their vehicle build-up is approximately 30%. The competition started on 15 July 2009 and has ended end on 15 October 2009.
- Prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd including consolation prizes were presented in cash.
